INTRODUCTION

This course is about the political, social, and economic experience of women around the world.  What problems do women face, what solutions have they proposed, especially in regard to public policy, and what needs to change in order to implement those solutions?  Our exploration will look at these questions in several nations, especially, but not exclusively South Africa and the United States. During the course of creating this website our group compiled different sections that were researched during this project. Our project was to interview and examine the wellness of women and how different lifestyles/ages/races/etc. can affect those women and their happiness, basically to find the universal definition of well-being. Over the course of this project each one of us were able to experience some sort of enlightenment in regards to understanding women a little better. Whether it was interviewing a family member, friend, or colleague, each of us was able to better understand what they feel well-being is in their particular lives and what we ourselves constitute as well-being. Our goal in this project as a whole was to compile all of our data and discuss with one another what we felt was the most important and widely accepted definition of well being. By applying that definition to literature reviews, interviews, and classroom discussion we created a website that compiles our views on women.
